Fallon's Longhorns Pass NATOPS Evaluation with flying colors.
Early this month the Longhorns of Naval Air Station Fallon conducted and passed their comprehensive NATOPS exam with flying colors.
The Naval Aviation Air Training and Operating Procedures Standardization (NATOPS) is a positive approach toward improving combat readiness and achieving a substantial reduction in the aircraft mishap rate. The evaluation fouces on emergency procedures and NATOPS knowledge with verbal and written quizzes, and flying scenarios.
NATOPS exams are rigorous tests of knowledge and skill in the aircraft with multiple emergencies and thorough debriefs.
The NATOPS evaluator from Marine Light Attack Training SQuadron 303 noted that the Longhorns had completed one of the "best" evaluations he had ever seen.
Congratulations to LT Brent Hardgraves, and LT Andy Byrne, NATOPS officers for a job well done.
